Album

L7 is the eponymous debut studio album by American rock band L7, released in 1988 by Epitaph Records. It demonstrates the band's punk rock origins, although there are traces of the heavier grunge sound that dominated their later work. Donita Sparks vocals, guitar. Suzi Gardner guitar, vocals. Jennifer Finch bass guitar, vocals. Roy Koutsky drums. Brett Gurewitz producer. Jordan Tarlow guitar technician. Suzy Beal artwork. Donnell Cameron engineer. L7's fourth album, Hungry for Stink, was released in July 1994. The band continued to be regarded as a strong live act and performed on the main stage of the Lollapalooza tour in 1994, which also included The Smashing Pumpkins, the Beastie Boys, George Clinton, Nick Cave, A Tribe Called Quest, and The Breeders. In January 1995, L7 played a set of benefit concerts for Voters for Choice at Constitution Hall. Influences to the group include the Ramones and Frightwig. The Prodigy covered the Hungry for Stink track Fuel My Fire on their 1997 album The Fat of the Land. In 2015, Spin listed Bricks Are Heavy as number 249. After their debut album, the band recruited Demetra Plakas as their permanent drummer. This line up continued through their albums, Smell the Magic 1990 on Subpop records, and both albums Bricks Are Heavy 1992, and Hungry for Stink 1994 on Slash Records. Finch elected to leave the band to attend college and Greta Brink replaced Finch as the bass player for The Beauty Process: Triple Platinum, the third and final album released with Slash Records in 1997. L7 reunited in 2014, including the primary bassist Jennifer Finch for the first time since 1996. The following year the band performed in Europe and North America. Listen to the full album: http. L7's eponymous debut finds the band just beginning to get their sea legs their trademark grungy fusion of punk and metal isn't quite fully formed yet, often skewing heavily toward one side of the equation or the other. That can sometimes give the album a schizophrenic feel one minute they're sneering punk goddesses, the next they're offering hard-partying odes to rock & roll that could have been ripped from a Runaways record
