"Dick Dale's 1962 debut LP Surfers' Choice introduced the world to the thunderous sound of surf guitar, as pioneered by the man who invented the style. Largely recorded at Dale's legendary Rendezvous Ballroom in Balboa Beach and featuring such tunes as "Let's Go Trippin'," "Surf Beat" and "Misirlou Twist," this groundbreaking album forever changed the face of rock guitar. Now, this seminal release is back on vinyl, mastered from the original analog tapes and pressed on high-quality 180-gram vinyl, with complete original cover art."

Am I neurotic? I feel like there is a distant hiss. I don't know, maybe it's in my head. Maybe it's like listening to Sinatra pressed in the 50's compared to reissues on vinyl or CD's made from the more aged tapes. Either way, if this reissue sounds as a good as this it makes me wonder how good the original vinyl sounds.
Your expectations are misconceived; there's fuzz in a Fender Strat pick up,there's dissonance in the recording and there's surface noise in every vintage groove of a 50 year old + record. I'm responding as we've just listed a signed copy of Surfer's Choice which plays with what could be called a distant hiss, and that's as it should be, the quality of vinyl. We recently got irrational bad feedback from a self proclaimed "audiophile" who expects records to sound like digital files.
