Alex Fanetti Alex Fanetti. Sello: Disco Team DT 2232L. Formato: Vinyl, LP, Album. País: Italy. It doesn't sound like it belongs on this album at all and the instrumentals are like someone hit the demo button on a kid's keyboard, but hey that's just my opinion. I do understand the purpose of making it sound that way, but still. In fact, most of the songs on this album are pretty forgettable for me, but as I indicated before, Metropoli is really the main reason I enjoy this record. It is super fast paced and there is a killer bit near the end. The only other real problem I have with pretty much all of this record though is Alex Fanetti's voice. This is a very mixed bag for me. On one hand, that guy looks like a total bada** on the cover, on the other hand there is the song Saloon. On one hand, Metropoli is a killer track, on the other hand there is the song Saloon. On one hand at least two other songs besides Metropoli are pretty decent (Ti Daro and Passa Il Tempo), on the other hand... Saloon... I absolutely HATE that track. It doesn't sound like it belongs on this album at all and the instrumentals are like someone hit the demo button on a kid's keyboard, but hey that's just my opinion. I do understand the purpose of making it sound that way, but still... It's not that he is necessarily overly off-key (just somewhat off key). It is more that he is overly "shouty" in an irritating, raspy way to me. That could just be a personal preference thing though. This falls into a similar category as Ottavio Ferretti's Cerco In Tutte Le Mie Stanze LP for me. It has so many annoyingly bad and even very boring qualities, but it still manages to entertain enough in a few select ways to keep me going back to at least a few songs.
